Fundraising Events
Gift Basket Bash
Join us for the Gift Basket Bash, held in conjunction with our Weihnachtsprogramm (Christmas program). It is a fantastic fundraiser for the school, and you could win a massive basket filled with toys, chocolates, books, and more! Keep an eye out for a flyer in late November or early December, which will detail the theme of your child’s or your classroom’s basket. Every contribution, big or small, is appreciated! The Basket Raffle team will assemble one basket per homeroom, and tickets will be available for purchase starting one week before the Christmas program. Winners will be announced at the end of the program.
Frühlingsfest
Put on your Dirndl or Lederhosen and join us for a fun-filled afternoon featuring student performances, delicious food, games, and more! This event, which started as a celebration of our school's 90th anniversary, is now our end-of-year program and fundraiser. The community is welcome, and all ages can join in the festivities. Frühlingsfest is held at the end of April or in May. Keep an eye on your email for more information!
German – American Day
Our biggest external fundraiser, German American Day, has been a beloved tradition since the 1930s. Held at Carl Schurz Park in Stone Bank, Wisconsin, on the second Saturday in August, this event celebrates the Gemütlichkeit of shared history and friendship. Enjoy music, food, a parade, and a playground for the kids. Do not forget to bring your swimsuit for a dip in beautiful Moose Lake! Our students often walk in the parade and perform a short presentation. Look out for volunteer sign-up information and ticket purchase details in July.
Volunteer Opportunities
German Fest
Join us at German Fest, a cherished tradition for over 40 years, held on the Summerfest grounds in Milwaukee, WI! Established in 1981, this event celebrates German culture and tradition along the stunning Lake Michigan shoreline. It takes place during the last full weekend in July each year. Sign up in early April to walk with us in the parade, typically held on the Saturday of the festival. We also host an information and language games booth to promote our school. Please watch your emails in May for an opportunity to volunteer!
German – American Day
Help make German American Day a success! This event, held at Carl Schurz Park in Stone Bank, Wisconsin, on the second Saturday in August, is our largest outside fundraiser. Volunteer opportunities include ticket collection, game supervision, and distributing water. Look for volunteer sign-ups in July.
